Basic Sticky Rice

    4 Cup Sweet rice
    6 Cups Water

  1. Rinse rice in a colander until water runs clear, drain well.
  2. Place rice in a bowl and add water to cover.
  3. Let stand 12 hours or overnight.
  4. Drain the rice spread it in an even layer in a steamer lined with cheesecloth or in a sticky rice-steaming basket.
  5. Cook covered over boiling water for 40 to 45 minutes or until tender & translucent.
  6. Remove from heat and fluff rice with a spatula. Serve hot
