Sweet Tamarind (Makham wan)
The fruit is a sweet variety of a fruit generally considered extremely tart. After being peeled it is generally eaten fresh, though it can be boiled in water to make a refreshing juice. Other, more sour varieties of tamarind are used in various cooked dishes for flavoring dishes such as Pad Trai.
