Resch trained on Voisins in the summer of 1916 and was wounded in action later that year. He was assigned to Squadriglia 70a on December 12, 1917 and had 3 victories flying a night fighter on April 17, 1918. Before returning to the Air Force in 1935, he logged 500,000 miles as a civilian airline pilot.
